Viewpoints
Worth the climb up just for the daftness of it - San Marino claims to be the oldest surviving republic in the world, going back to 301 AD, and it's a whole country stacked up one rock. Stone walls and stepped lanes, a footbridge over the path, geraniums banked along the terraces and signs pointing you up to the first tower. The three towers along the ridge are the thing, and the view off the edge on a clear day runs all the way to the Adriatic.
